Coach Mike Corona
Mike has been coaching youth and adult sport for over 11 years, finding success in the results of his athletes across many sports. Mike places immense value on the fundamentals of the game and more importantly, on mental and physical toughness. He ensures each player understands the true meaning of toughness and portrays it on and off the court. He believes the mental side of sport is an irreplaceable life skill. Though difficult to develop and often overlooked, it is rarely taught and simply expected, without instruction nor accountability.
Mike believes the declining level of respect and sportsmanship in today’s professional sports can be seen bleeding into youth sports. This carries over into the classroom and is ineffective at shaping the minds of our future leaders. For 99.5% of the kids playing AAU, the skills learned will either help or hurt them off the court; therefore, he places a high emphasis on the interrelated skills taught through sport that are used in life…respect, communication, body language, and mental toughness.
He resides in Jamesville with his wife Jennifer and 3 children; Aston, Carson and Cameron.
