Syracuse Select Basketball Regional Teams

Who: Syracuse Select Basketball Boys AAU tryout participants

What: Tryout for Syracuse Select Basketball Regional Travel AAU Teams. You will play over 30 games, and receive over 44 hours of practice time from a paid professional coach. 

Where: Practices will be held at Syracuse Select Basketball, Boys & Girls Club of Syracuse, Local Schools in and around Central New York.

TOURNAMENT GAMES will be played in Syracuse or within a two-hour radius of Syracuse in such locations as Albany, Binghamton, Rochester, Buffalo, and Scranton, PA.

When: The Spring Season Runs From tryouts until the end of 1st weekend of June.  

Why: The opportunity to practice and play against players of the same ability and playing experience. To play in tournaments in Syracuse, and other venues within  2.5 hours of Syracuse.

February 1st 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Boys & Girls Club of Syracuse

6th, 7th & 8th Grade Boys

February 1st 5:00 pm- 7:00 pm  at The Boys & Girls Club of Syracuse

9th, & 10th Grade Boys

Sunday 03/8/20  5:00-7:00pm  at Boys & Girls Club of Syracuse

11th Grade 

There will be no tryout for 11th grade.  Any player wishing to play on an 11th grade Syracuse Select Spring Basketball team must contact Coach Pudney at (315) 224-1401 or spudney@verizon.net  to set up an evaluation.

Additional Info The tryout cost is $20.00. A late tryout fee of $35 will be charged instead of the original registration fee if payment is not received one week in advance.

YOU MUST BE PRE-REGISTERED 7 DAYS BEFORE TRYOUTS ARE SCHEDULED. If you are not pre-registered, you cannot tryout. No exceptions will be made.

Cost: If you make the team the cost will be $575.00 (3rd grade through 6th Grade)  and $675.00 (7th grade to 11th grade) if you are a new or returning player.   The cost does not include a new uniform this year. The uniform is $100 for top and bottom, $35 shooting shirt with last name and number on the back, and $85 Back pack with Last name and Number embroidered on it. We understand that this a big expense, but your son will receive the following:

•  6 – 8 Tournaments with a minimum of 33 – 40 games
• 30 – 40 Hours of practice time
• A paid professional Coach

This year, we will be using a hotel service to secure hotel room blocks for all Syracuse Select Basketball teams. To be eligible to play, you must use the room block that is designated. During larger tournaments, you will have several hotel options to choose from. The goal is to make the hotel reservation process easier for the Syracuse Select Basketball families and to make your stay more enjoyable, while always keeping price, location and amenities in mind.
