Coach Scott Sugar: AD at Fayetteville-Manlius

Scott is beginning his 16th year as an athletic administrator and his sixth year as Director of Physical Education and Athletics for the Fayetteville-Manlius Central School District.  He previously served in the same capacity for the Oswego City Schools from 2007 through June 2012.  From 2001 through 2007, Scott served as the Red Creek Central School District’s Director of Athletics, where in 1998 he began teaching physical education and coaching varsity basketball (2 years) and varsity baseball (9 years).  Scott earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education with a minor in management and a concentration in sports from SUNY Cortland.  He also earned his Master of Science in Health Education from SUNY Cortland and his Educational Administration Certificate from the University of Rochester.  Along with this duties at F-M; Scott is the Section III Boys Basketball Assistant Chairperson, a member of the Section III Football Committee, the President of the Salt City Athletic Conference (SCAC) and the President of the New York State Athletic Administrators and also the director of the SCAC Coaching Education Program.  Scott lives in Manlius with his wife Sue, son Connor and daughter Riley.

Grew up in Trumbull, Ct. and Attended Syracuse University where I met my wife Tracy (SU 96) and majored in Physical Education. We have four kids, Meira, 13, Cy 12, Brigg, 9 and Eliza, 7. I became a teacher and coach at Henninger High School, in the Syracuse City School District. I became the Athletics Director for Henninger High School in 2004 where I remained until becoming the Director of Athletics, PE and Health for the Liverpool Central School District in 2014. I have been a lifelong Syracuse Basketball fan and proud Alum! I am very excited to coach this group of young men this spring and we are fortunate to be representing Syracuse Select Basketball.
